How do I order a custom stencil?

Choose your size on our Custom Image Stencil page, upload your artwork, add any dimensions or instructions, and complete checkout. We then prepare your design for cutting. Please check your spelling and order details carefully, and watch your email in case we need to clarify anything.

Does the size refer to the design or the stencil sheet?

The selected size refers to the longest side of the design itself, with the other side scaled proportionally. We add a practical border, so the overall sheet is larger. If your design must fit a specific space, include the available width and height, and tell us whether any measurements refer to the design or the whole sheet.

What artwork should I send?

A clear, high-resolution image or vector file works best. Upload the clearest version you have. If your file is too large to upload, email it to info@thestenciltailor.com after checkout, quoting your order number.

Can I see a preview before my stencil is cut?

Yes, previews are available on request. Please ask in your order instructions or contact us immediately after checkout. If you request a preview, we’ll wait for your approval before cutting. Previews are not automatically sent for every order.

Will my design need to be adjusted?

Some designs need small connecting bridges to hold enclosed shapes in place, or adjustments to very fine details so they can be cut successfully. Standard preparation is usually included. If your artwork needs extensive work or an additional design fee, we’ll discuss this with you before proceeding.

What are your stencils made from?

We use flexible, reusable 190-micron Mylar plastic. Each stencil is laser-cut to order and can be cleaned and used again. If you have a particular surface or application in mind, contact us before ordering for advice.

Can you make large stencils or bulk orders?

Yes. Large designs may be supplied across multiple sheets. For bulk, trade or oversized orders, contact us with your artwork, dimensions, quantity and deadline so we can advise on the layout and provide a quote.

Where do you ship, and how long will my order take?

We dispatch from London and ship worldwide. See our shipping policy for the current processing estimate. Delivery options and estimates are shown at checkout. Please allow for both production time and delivery time.

What if I need my stencil by a particular date?

Contact us before ordering with your design, size, quantity, delivery postcode and required date. We’ll check whether the deadline is achievable and advise on available options.

How should I clean and store my stencil?

Clean gently with lukewarm water and mild soap, then allow it to dry. Avoid scrubbing delicate cut sections or bending them sharply. Store the stencil flat to protect the design.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Contact us as soon as possible with your order number. Each stencil is made to order, so changes or cancellations may no longer be possible once work has begun. Please see our refund policy for details.

What should I do if there’s a problem with my order?

Please get in touch with your order number, a description of the problem and clear photos. We’ll review the issue and help you resolve it.
